The 21-year-old last appeared in the starting 11 against Rangers on October 30, 2019 when he suffered the unfortunate injury that kept him on the sidelines for so long by kicking Alfredo Morelos’ studs.

Grivosti returned to action as a substitute in the Staggies’ Premiership match against Hibernian, and he continue to make progress by playing from the start at Fir Park last Saturday.

It had been a frustrating period in the medical room as the Liverpudlian suffered setback after setback as he tried to battle back to fitness.

Initially, it was not thought he would miss anything like the amount of time he has, so although the end result was far from ideal there was still a delight in being able to feature at Fir Park.

“It was obviously brilliant to get back on the pitch on Saturday,” Grivosti explained.

“It was a hard day for the team, but personally it was bitter-sweet – I was made up to get back starting a game.

“I just need to carry on from where I’ve started now, I need to get back playing and get games under my belt to build up my fitness. I played 60 minutes last Saturday, so I need to get 90 under my belt and carry on trying to improve.

“I’ve probably got a different mindset to the other lads, I’m still getting to where I need to be.

“But I’m hopefully not too far away from being able to play 90 minutes after 90 minutes.

“The plan for me probably was to build me up in the cup games that are coming up.

“I got chucked in though which is the best way to go about it, because if I can recover from the last game and get more minutes under my belt then I will be further on than everyone thought I would be.”
