Belmaduthy rinks make it to the last four

The two strong Belmaduthy curling rinks swept into the semi finals of the Allangrange Trophy on Monday night with big wins.

Brenda Macintyre has passed the skip’s role over to her uncle Peter Fraser and the same curlers, Ian Chisholm and Peter Macintyre, who are defending the trophy, met Neil Gillies and his Killearnan rink of Hugh Logan, Duncan Clark and Andrew Urquhart who offered only a token resistance of two shots against Belmaduthy’s 13 shot count.

Iain Fraser’s family rink of sons John and Jamie, with Mike Paul leading, hit the crushing blow of five shots against David Lyall’s Muir of Ord’s skip, Richard MacWilliam, in the first end to set the pattern. With with a stunning fourth end six shots, the 14-4 win was soon achieved.
