Avoch were knocked out of the Highland Amateur Cup after suffering a 2–1 quarter final defeat to Ness in Lewis.
Titch Morrison gave Ness the lead after eight minutes but Avoch equalised in the second half through Dean Allison.
Ness regained the lead a minute after hour mark through Davie Maclean and held on for victory. Avoch ended with 10 men when Keith Mason was sent off for a last man challenge.
Ness will face Caithness heavyweights Pentland United who suffered a scare when they had to come from 3–1 down to beat Stromness Athletic 5–3.
IRN Security were knocked out of the Highland Amateur Cup after going down 4–0 to holders Wick Groats at Ardersier.
The last Inverness team remaining in the competition fell behind after eight minutes with Alan Mathieson finding the net.
The Caithness outfit doubled their advantage before half time when Mathieson grabbed his second.
Wick Groats killed the game off within the first eight minutes of the second half.
Graham MacNab made it three in the 47th minute before James Mackay scored their fourth in the 53rd minute.
Wick Groats have set up a Caithness derby in the semi final as they will face High Ormlie Hotspur who defeated Golspie Stafford 4-3 on penalties after it was 3–3 after extra time.
