The Ross-shire outfit are preparing for an early start to reach Stornoway for tomorrow’s last-16 encounter as they aim to book their place in the quarter finals.

Avoch are one of the big names in the Highland Amateur Cup, having won the tournament six times.

The last time they won the tournament was back in 2017 when they defeated Staxigoe United 2-1 in the final.

MacAllister says his team have the quality to end their six-year wait to lift the trophy again.

But he says while Western Isles teams are an unknown quantity, is fully aware of their quality given their history in the competition.

He is expecting a tough encounter tomorrow afternoon.

“It will be a mammoth trip for us, but that is what you have to take in the Highland Amateur Cup,” he said.

“The boys are looking forward to the match and will enjoy it even more if we come back with a win.

“We’ve won it six times in our history so it is a competition that is important to the club.

“We have a tricky route to the final, but we are just taking each round as it comes. But we have a good team that is capable of giving anyone a game.

“But I am just thinking about getting a result against Back on Saturday.

“If you look too far ahead you are setting yourself up for a fall.”
