Avoch footballer called up for Scotland Euro 2021 qualifier against Albania

Ross-shire footballer Rachel McLauchlan has been called up to the Scotland squad for the Euro 2021 qualifier against Albania.

The Avoch athlete, who plays for Scottish champions Glasgow City, is in line to win her eighth cap in Elbasan on Friday, November 8.

McLauchan (22), who started her football career at Inverness City, was part of the Glasgow City squad which won the Premiership for the 13th season in-a-row when they lifted the title with a 10-0 win over Motherwell on Wednesday night.

The former Fortrose Academy pupil moved to Glasgow City from English Women's Super League side Yeovil Town this season after previously playing at Hibernian for three years.

Scotland won their opening Euro 2021 qualifier against Cyprus 8-0 in August.

Scotland are in second place in Group E, three points behind leaders Finland but have a game in hand with Portugal in third.
