Avoch defeat Maryburgh in Highland Amateur Cup. Black Rock Rovers also in next round. Third round draw in Dingwall on Sunday.

Avoch defeated Maryburgh 4–2 in the battle of the Ross-shire heavyweights to progress to the third round of the Highland Amateur Cup.

Black Rock Rovers cruised into the last 16 after thrashing Ferrybache 8–1 in Alness.

But there was disappointment for other Ross-shire clubs as Black Isle United went down 5–2 to Kirkwall Hotspurs in Culbokie.

Fortrose and Rosemarkie Union are also out after they were thrashed 6–0 by Golspie Stafford.

Conon Bridge were thrashed 6–1 at Sleat and Strath with Ullapool outfit Lochbroom losing 4–2 to Staxigoe United in Caithness.

Inverness champions Loch Ness are out after losing 4–2 to Wick Groats at Bught Park.

The third round draw takes place tomorrow at the National Hotel in Dingwall at noon.
