Avoch beat Loch Ness to reach Highland Amateur Cup semi finals

AVOCH are through to the semi final of the Highland Amateur Cup after a 1-0 victory over Loch Ness in the quarter final at Cornonation Park.
Ryan McFee scored the only goal of the game with 15 minutes remaining to book a semi final clash against Clachnacuddin Reserves on Saturday, August 5.
Clach Reserves defeated Golspie Stafford on penalties after both teams were level at 5-5 after extra time.
Saturday’s last quarter final sees Stromness Athletic take on Lerwick Spurs in Orkney, with the winner taking on Wick Groats in the semi final.
Meanwhile, Maryburgh are closing in on retaining the Inverness and District Premiership title after a 3-1 victory over Ardersier on Monday.
The win keeps them eight points clear of Avoch in second place with four games to go in the league campaign.
Avoch kept up the pressure by thrashing Conon Bridge 11-1.
Ryan McFee found the net four times with John Gilles scoring a hat-trick, Ian Penwright grabbed a double and goals from Graeme Stewart and Sean Webb completing the rout.
Loch Ness remain in third place after defeating Clachnacuddin Reserves 3-1.
Inverness Athletic beat Evanton outfit Black Rock Rovers 5-2
In Division One, Highland Hospice remain one point clear at the top after beating Fortrose and Rosemarkie Union 3-1.
Culloden Blacksmiths closed the gap after they thrashed Gellions 8-0. Seumas Ross, Sam Ross and Callum Reilly all scored twice witn Calum Finlayson and Cameron Wallace also finding the net.
Ferrybache kept their slim chances of promotion alive when they beat Tomatin 3-0, Gilham Flooring NT defeated Ness City 2-1 and Tomatin United beat Highland 3-2.
