Avoch beat league leaders Maryburgh to win Premier Division Cup

Avoch got their hands on silverware last weekend after defeating Maryburgh 1-0 in the Inverness and District Amateur Football Association Premier Division Cup final.

Both teams are flying high in title contention in the top flight, setting up a fascinating contest for the cup final.

It was Avoch who were left celebrating at the end of the day, though, thanks to a Keith Mason header that proved to be the difference between the sides.

Mason had connected with a corner from James Ross in the first half, and neither side could find a further breakthrough in what was hot and stuffy conditions at the neutral Muir of Ord venue.
