Avoch aiming to reach Highland Amateur Cup final in final four rematch against Clachnacuddin in Culbokie

Avoch will look to reach the final of the Highland Amateur Cup when they face Clachnacuddin Reserves in the semi final at Culbokie this afternoon.

The Ross-shire outfit, who are the second most successful club in the competition’s history with six wins, will be chasing their seventh.

The two teams will be looking to book their place at the final with kick-off at 3pm.

The two teams had a dress rehearsal for the cup final in the league on Monday with a 3-1 win at Coronation Park.

Clachnacuddin Reserves went down to 10 men after 20 minutes through a straight red card.

Clach made it difficult to break them down by sitting in and it took Jordan Laidlaw scoring at the back post right on half time to break the deadlock.

Ryan Mcfee then made it 2-0 10 minutes into the second half, but Clach pulled one back with Ryan Walker firing a shot onto the top corner.

Mcfee then headed in Shaun Kerr’s cross/shot at the back post to put the game beyond Clach to give them victory and grab all three points.

Elsewhere in the Premiership, Ardersier and Inverness Athletic battled it out in a 2-2 draw.

Conon Bridge moved off the bottom with a 2-0 victory Loch Ness.

In the First Division, Culloden Blacksmiths remaining two points clear at the top after they beat Fortrose and Rosemarkie 7-2. John McLeod and Sam Ross both scored hat-tricks with Callum Reilly also finding the net for the league leaders.

Hospice remain two points behind as they beat Tomatin United 5-2.

Ferrybache are in third place three points behind after thrashing Gellions 8-1.

Ness City grabbed a 2-1 win over Tomatin with Gilham Flooring NT and Highland sharing the points in a 1-1 draw.

In Division Two, Drakies were crowned champions of Inverness Second Division as they beat Stratton 4-2. Aidan Grant scored twice with Liam Raffan and Robbie Fyfe also finding the net.

Muir of Ord Rovers suffered a 7-0 defeat to Hill Rovers with Glenurquhart beating G16 United 5-2.
