Arms move clear in pool league

CROMARTY Arms Hotel moved two points clear at the top of the Dingwall and District Pool League after a 6-3 victory at the Station Hotel, Avoch on Monday night.

Kevin MacAulay, partnered by Andrew Munro, potted the match winner to keep the league leaders’ 100 per cent record intact.

Royal Hotel, Cromarty lost ground when they were defeated 5-4 by Ord Arms Hotel A. Ronald “Roxy” MacLean, partnered by Andrew MacLean, sank the decisive back in this match.

Defending champions, National Hotel got back to winning ways with an emphatic 8-1 victory over Dingwall 147 C. Craig Hyslop settled this one in the singles.

Lovat Arms Hotel doubled their points tally with a 6-3 win at the Ross-shire Club.

Joe Allan, partnered by Wayne Morton, cleared up to win the penultimate frame.

Oscars Bar B won with something to spare in a 7-2 victory against Dingwall 147 A.

William Hermitage clinched the points when he won his singles game.

In the other match, Dingwall 147 B defeated Ord Arms Hotel B 6-3

Farquhar MacManus, partnered by Gary Finlayson, potted the match winner.
