Saturday’s 2–0 defeat against Dundee United saw the Staggies throw away the chance to move out of the relegation play-off zone.

Ross County have only won two matches at home in the Premiership this season with victories against Motherwell and Aberdeen.

The French midfielder knows things have to change quickly if they want to avoid the drop at the end of the season.

“We definitely have to improve as home games are vital,” he said.

“I know that there are no fans allowed in which would have helped us.

“But being at home is an advantage we need to take on board.

“We didn’t do it against Dundee United and there is room for improvement for sure.”

Hamilton Academical reduced the gap at the bottom to three points with an unexpected 1–1 draw against league leaders Rangers on Sunday. Ross County now face a difficult run of games against top six opposition.

They include Hibernian on Saturday and Celtic the following weekend.

However, the Staggies have picked up notable victories against top half teams including against Hibs and Aberdeen in the league.

Andreu says they have shown they can go to places like Easter Road and win and have to do the same in Dingwall.

“We won against Hibs a few weeks ago so we can do that, there is no question about that,” he said.

“If we keep improving in the middle and at the back we will definitely get some chances there is no doubt about that.”

Andreu signed for Ross County during the January transfer window and has been pleased to get a chance in the starting line-up.

“I was happy to get the licence to start but unfortunately the game did not go as we wanted.

“But it is good for me to have the 90 minutes, it is not the same when you do not win but I tried to give my best. But it is the club that matters and as players, we have to deliver that and if we can do that quickly, that would be better.”
