Ross-shire clubs are reported to be holding a meeting tomorrow night.

Several sources claim representatives of at least nine amateur football clubs will meet in Invergordon on Wednesday night to discuss forming a new summer football league in Ross-shire.

The reports come after the IDFA fear it will have to cancel the 2022 season after it failed to fill five key positions on its committee at a meeting last weekend, which are vital in the league being able to function.

Eight Ross-shire teams competed in the IDFA last season, which announced 29 teams had registered to take part in the 2022 competition.

Teams from Ross-shire who took part in the IDFA last season included Avoch, Black Isle United, Black Rock Rovers, Conon Bridge, Contin, Invergordon Social Club, Maryburgh and Muir of Ord Rovers,

It is not known which teams are interested in being involved in a new Ross league, or if any Ross teams involved in the North-West Sutherland Amateur Football Association are involved in talks.

None of the sources wanted to comment publicly.
