Alness United manager Robert MacCormack has a selection dilemma ahead of tomorrow’s Division Two match with Loch Ness after his substitutes made their mark.

They’ve put 22 goals past Bonar Bridge and Scourie without conceding once Even more pleasing for MacCormack is that his players have not relented in the latter stages of matches.

Substitutions have not disrupted their flow either, with only Evan Murray not getting his name on the scoresheet although the centre back did help his team to another clean sheet.

“That’s what the most pleasing thing last Saturday was, when guys went on from the bench four of them scored,” MacCormack said.

“They’re chomping at the bit to play and get involved.

“We’ve got a really good squad, and there are guys who are training and trying to get into the squad who are really good players. Unfortunately we can only pick 16.

“The squad is brilliant, even the guys who aren’t making the squads are still coming along and banging on the door in training.”

Loch Ness travel to Dalmore Park for what will be United’s toughest test of the season so far.

The Inverness outfit have seven points from their first four league matches, but MacCormack is not paying too much attention to the opposition.

“We’ll just keep going and if we play as well as we can, we’ll be hard to beat,” he explained.

“It’s one game at a time, we’ve got Loch Ness this weekend and then it’s Thurso in the cup, so we’ll just concentrate on tomorrow.

“It’s just about doing more of the same. The guys work unbelievably hard in training, in large numbers.

“The guys are absolutely buzzing, confidence is high, there’s a good feeling about the group right now, so it’s just asking for more of the same.

“They all know what we’re expecting of them now, and so far so good.”
