ADIAN Williamson remains undefeated in his professional boxing career after recording his sixth consecutive win.

The Inverness City Boxing Club athlete defeated Brighton boxer Mark Butler 40-36 in the lightweight contest in Aberdeen last Saturday.

It was a dominant performance from Williamson who grew his reputation as an exciting prospect in Scottish boxing.

His coach Laurie Redfern said Williamson was in full control of the contest and put in a professional performance.

“He was the star performer of the night as he was out of this world,” said Redfern.

“It was a great performance which he can take into his next bout in Elgin.

“After that we can start looking at possible title fights.”

Williamson, who also works as a roofer, has signed up with new manager David McAllister at Northern Sporting Club to help boost his boxing career.

Speaking about signing up with McAllister, Williamson said: “I’ve signed with a new manager, and I am looking to set a good example right at the start so I can get my name out there.

“David is a good guy, I have known him since I competed at amateur level.

“He will help me get about and get me fights elsewhere. It is definitely a stepping stone in my career.”

Williamson originally started out in martial arts before it was discovered he had real promise as a boxer when he was a teenager.

After impressing at amateur level, Williamson is now making an impact as a professional and is looking to have a successful career.

Speaking previously about his career aspirations, he said he will take his time to plan it out.

He said: “I’m taking everything one step a time instead of rushing into things. I am targeting a Scottish title and then look for Celtic and British titles and take everything upwards from that.”
