An 83-year-old player pulled off a huge upset when he played his way tovictory at the Fortrose and Rosemarkie Gents’ Club Championship Handicap.

Maurice Brown of Fortrose stunned his younger opposition as he was pitchperfect to claim the title and win the competition for the first time inhis career.

The retired decorator came through the 36-hole qualifying process as thelast qualifier of eight with two cards of 73 playing from his handicapof 22.
