An 83-year-old player pulled off a huge upset when he played his way to victory at the Fortrose and Rosemarkie Gents’ Club Championship Handicap.

Maurice Brown of Fortrose stunned his younger opposition as he was pitch perfect to claim the title and win the competition for the first time in his career.

The retired decorator came through the 36-hole qualifying process as the last qualifier of eight with two cards of 73 playing from his handicap of 22.
