FOUR youths who terrorised Dingwall pensioners in their home over a period of three months have had their sentence deferred for reports at the town’s Sheriff Court.

Sheriff Alasdair McFadyen heard the youths and a number of children who have already been before the Children’s Panel, had been throwing stones and shouting abuse at an 80-year-old householder and his 84-year-old wife at their home in Fingal Road, Dingwall.

Aaron Tonks (16) of Millbank Road, Dingwall, Keiran Finlayson, (16) Ulladale Crescent, Strathpeffer, Jory Stewart (17), High Street, Dingwall, and Jordan Holloway (16) Stuarthill Drive, Maryburgh, admitted repeatedly between January 6 and March 18 acting with children and behaving in a threatening and abusive manner likely to cause alarm.

Depute fiscal Stewart Maciver said nine separate incidents were recorded by police.

He said: "The couple reported various incidents about young people gathering outside their property shouting abuse, throwing stones and on some occasions milk shakes, bottles and lighters.

"On each occasion it was reported there was no sign of the accused when the police arrived."

But Mr Maciver said names were obtained and the individuals were later interviewed.

Mr Maciver said the 80-year-old man had been called highly abusive names and "a coffin dodger".

Sheriff MacFadyen said he would defer for reports on all four until September 15 and ask for the advice of the Children’s Panel.
