SNOW showers are forecast for the North of Scotland later this week, with potential travel disruption across the Highlands.

A fresh yellow weather warning was issued by the Met Office as adverse weather will likely affect roads and railways on Wednesday.

According to the Met Office, accumulations of two to five cm of snow are possible at lower levels, with five to 10cm above 200 metres

Some drifting and blizzard conditions in the strong northerly winds are also to be expected.

People are being warned of longer travel times and take care as lower temperatures will affect the region.
