Businesses in the Highlands and Islands are to be given a valuable opportunity to learn about innovation support thanks to a new webinar from creative economy support organisation, XpoNorth taking place on Tuesday, April 6.

The creative and cultural sectors are widely viewed as incredibly fertile spaces for innovation, stepping outside the boundaries of traditional thinking to find new ways of working. Against the backdrop of the pandemic and Brexit, now more than ever businesses are looking to reach their customers in different ways and develop new processes, services and products. However, from identifying possible areas of innovation, to articulation and funding – embarking on the journey can be a daunting process.

This free-to-attend webinar aims to demystify the process and provide usable and practical tools to help businesses of all sizes.

XpoNorth project director Alex Smith will be joined by Karine Burns and Joanna Hagerty from TrueNorth Innovation and Fiona Paton, innovation manager at Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) in this introductory session which will offer a snapshot of the range of support available to businesses across the Highlands and Islands and demonstrate how to successfully move from idea to reality.

Mr Smith said: “I’m delighted we’re able to partner with the experts at TrueNorth Innovation and HIE to deliver practical information on tackling innovation. This past year, innovation has been vital to help navigate the pandemic and deliver alternative revenue streams for businesses. What some first thought would be temporary solutions have turned in to new, permanent ways of working and with life post pandemic and post Brexit looking very different, now is the time to embrace change, quicken the process and further explore new ways to innovate. This webinar aims to support all businesses regardless of what stage of the innovation process they are at and I urge them to join.”

The unlocking innovation in the creative and cultural sectors webinar is free to attend and takes place on Tuesday, April 6, at 1.30pm. To book a space please visit www.xponorth.co.uk
