A £115,000 resurfacing project is due to get underway on the A835 near Ullapool next week.

Work on a 1km section of the road at Lael Forest, west of Braemore, is scheduled to start on Tuesday March 17 and to finish on Friday March 20.

The works had been due to start on February 23 but were put off because of bad weather.

Eddie Ross, of BEAR Scotland’s north west unit, said: "These essential works will improve the existing road surface, benefiting road users for years to come.

"Some delays are inevitable and we would therefore encourage motorists to plan their journey ahead, where possible."

The works will be carried out between 7am and 7pm and traffic management will be in place.
