She later posted on the team’s social media site: “Words cannot express my gratitude.”

The team was scrambled on Friday after she got into difficulties on Quinag, in Assynt.

The Scottish Ambulance Service was also involved in the rescue and deployed the Helicoper Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) who airlifted her to hospital.

Her post reads: “I can’t express how thankful I was to all you guys, your knowledge and expertise, your kindness, your professionalism in getting me off Quinag.

“I am home now with a double fracture to my ankle and ligament/soft tissue damage to my opposite knee. Words cannot express my gratitude.”

Assynt Mountain Rescue Team has reminded climbers and hill walkers that it is important to carry a head torch at this time of year, no matter how long you expect to be out on the hill.
