A WOMAN was taken to hospital for treatment following a two-car accident in Alness yesterday.

Firefighters based at Invergordon used cutting equipment to remove the roof of one of the vehicles to gain access to the driver.

They deployed a spinal board before handing the casualty over to the ambulance service.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: "We were made aware of a crash involving two cars on Novar Road in Alness around 1.20pm on Friday, 23 December.

"One woman was taken by ambulance to hospital for treatment."

Invergordon Fire Station said it had mobilised two crews and used battery-operated cutting equipment in the rescue operation.
