Woman taken to Raigmore Hospital after car crash on Struie Road near Ardgay, with High Bridge now closed for damage assessment and diversions in place on the road

AN EASTER Ross road remains closed today after a car crash on Friday evening damaged a bridge near Ardgay.

Ater a one-vehicle crash which happened before 6pm, a woman was taken to Raigmore Hospital for treatment, with an Air Ambulance in attendance.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5.40pm on Friday, October 7, police were called to Struie Road at High Bridge, following a report of a one-vehicle crash.

“One woman was taken to Raigmore Hospital for treatment. The road remains closed, with diversions in place, until an assessment can be made of damage to the bridge.”

A section of Struie Road remains closed at present as engineers are assessing the damage to the bridge.

The bridge had been temporarily closed last month for a safety inspection by Highland Council.
