A VISUALLY-impaired woman turned up at a relative’s door with a hammer and made threats towards her.

Inverness Sheriff Court heard that Christina Stewart (56) of Ord Terrace, Strathpeffer was upset and distressed at comments allegedly made by a member of the family about her late son. The incident happened in Meiklefield Road, Dingwall on March 21, 2021.

Fiscal depute Hilary Michelpoulou said: “She said: ‘I will cut you in bits. You had better leave Dingwall’. She then damaged the door of the property and police were called.”

Solicitor Graham Mann said: “Words had been exchanged about her dead son and she became extremely upset and distressed.”

Stewart admitted threatening or abusive behaviour. Sheriff Gary Aitken deferred sentence until April 21 for social workers to provide assistance to Stewart.
