A Wester Ross woman who suspected her boyfriend of cheating on her confronted him in a car park.
Inverness Sheriff Court was told that Tia Miller (22) wanted their relationship to continue.
But when this was rejected she began shouting at him, at first telling him she loved him.
However fiscal depute David Morton said the terms became more aggressive and there was a struggle.
"During this, her head struck his nose causing it to bleed," he said.
"Friends intervened to separate them."
Defence solicitor Cecily Kingston said her client only found out that their relationship of almost three years had ended when she saw him with the other woman.
Sheriff Robert Macdonald deferred sentence on first offender Miller, of Pier Road, Aultbea, until September 2 for a background report.
