A one-year-old Saarloos Wolfdog has gone missing in the Ardgay and Bonar Bridge area, and its owner is desperate to have her returned.
Known as Logan, and the size of an Alsatian, the young dog has recently come into heat for the first time.

Fears have been raised about her, after she went missing at lunchtime on Monday, and following the rising rivers and stormy weather that has battered the area.

Logan is owned by Dutchman Pieter-Paul Groenhuijsen. The dog normally lives at Alladale Lodge but after coming into heat for the first time, escaped on Monday and has not been seen since. He is currently out searching for her.

A plea to find her was made on Facebook, it read: "To all our followers in the Ardgay / Bonar Bridge area, can you please keep an eye out for Logan? She is a Saarloos Wolfdog, currently in heat so most likely to be seen or found near other dogs. If you spot her, please give us a call on 01863-755338. Thank you for your help."

Innes MacNeill, who is helping search for the dog, said: "We don't know where she is and we are very worried. We thought she might have gone east as there are more dogs there and she has been walked in that area.

"She has come into season for the first time and that is probably the reason she has run away.

"We are so worried about her, because things are not in her favour due to the terrible weather conditions we have had over the last few days.

"We have been out with thermal equipment trying to find her.

"Let's hope someone reads this and we find her. You never know."
