High wind warnings have sparked the cancellation of some CalMac ferry services between Ullapool and Stornoway.

The ferry operator has warned that due to forecasts for strong south-westerly winds, its Thursday morning sailings departing Stornoway at 7am and Ullapool at 10.30am have both been cancelled.

Thursday's 2pm Stornoway departure and 5.30pm Ullapool sailing are also at "heightened risk" of disruption or cancellation at short notice.

CalMac advised passengers that it will be carrying out a review of conditions at 8.30am before deciding the fate of the 2pm sailing.

It follows warnings of possible disruption to the 5.30pm Ullapool-Stornoway sailing today (Wednesday) and the cancellations of the overnight freight sailings at 10.10pm out of Stornoway and 2.50am return leg out of Ullapool.
