Local residents are being invited to find out more about a wind farm development at Lochluichart

A MEET the developer drop-in session – designed to help local residents find out more about a controversial wind farm and its developer - is being held next Wednesday (August 24) at Garve Village Hall.

The 17-turbine, 51MW wind farm will be located on the Lochluichart Estate, on the higher land between Loch Glascarnoch and Loch Luichart, approximately 18 km north-west of Dingwall.

Construction of the project is due to start at the end of the year and it is anticipated the wind farm will be fully operational by 2013.

At the drop-in session, information about the status of the wind farm and next steps will be provided. Eneco representatives will be on-hand to answer questions from members of the public.

Nigel McManus, commercial manager for Lochluichart Wind Farm, said, "The drop-in session will provide local residents with a great opportunity to learn more about Eneco, the project and aspects of the development process."

The event runs from 4pm to 8pm.
