A COMMUNITY project helping people to get out and about safely in a beautiful part of Ross-shire has got off to a good start.

The Lochcarron Community Development Company started a six-week block of walking for health walks, with sponsorship support from Scottish Sea Farms and Forestry and Land Scotland.

The group reported: "We were blessed with rainbows and a breeze that certainly blew away the cobwebs, leaving many of us feeling invigorated. Great to see some familiar as well as some new faces. New members are very welcome to join, just get in touch. Just a reminder that due to the current restrictions the limit is for a capacity of 15 persons."

Anyone interested can email Lynda Beveridge, the walking group leader, on beveridge.lynda@yahoo.co.uk to book a place.

Forthcoming Tuesday dates are April 6, April 13, April 20 and April 26.
