Ten years have now passed since the Ullapool branch of Costcutters closed.
The shop on West Argyle Street, is now one of many unoccupied and deteriorating properties in the popular seaside village.
The derelict property sits alongside the other recent closures in Ullapool, including: Parlett's convenience store, The Frigate bar and bistro, the Morefield Motel and the Edinburgh Woollen Mill.
Despite artwork of marine animals on the building's windows by local group Ullapool Sea Savers, the building on West Argyle Street is still in need of refurbishment from when it first closed a decade ago.
MSP Maree Todd said: "It is a shame that the old Costcutters building in Ullapool has been lying vacant for so many years.
“I understand that there has been some interest in the building from local businesses and the community over the years, but there has been some difficulty in getting plans off the ground.
“The building is in the heart of the village, so it would be great to see it brought back into use and benefiting the Ullapool community again."
Councillor Liz Kraft said: "I have no knowledge of what is happening to the building".
Fellow Wester Ross, Lochalsh and Strathpeffer ward councillors Patrick Logue, Chris Birt and Isabelle Campbell have also been asked to comment.
