WESTER Ross has recorded the warmest day of the year so far.

The mercury in Achnagart near the A87 topped 25C earlier, with weather forecasters at the BBC predicting that temperatures “could climb higher” still before the day was out.

And their prediction proved accurate, with Kinlochewe beating that figure to reach 25.8C a little later.
