CUSTOMERS have been urged to be patient with Wester Ross businesses that are beginning to emerge from the Covid-19 lockdown.

The Lochcarron Community Development Company has stressed that many firms are still coming through "one of the hardest challenges" they've ever faced, and encouraged the public to be kind, compassionate and have patience as the companies adjust to the new normal.

"As businesses start to reopen, please understand they may have just survived one of the hardest professional and personal challenges they've ever faced," said a spokesman on its Facebook page.

"While they are excited to open, the owners and employees are still stressed. They are not through the woods yet.

"Please don't go to these businesses and complain about changes that were forced upon them due to lost revenue, lost employees, new policies and protocols. They don't have the same business they had three months ago.

"They are doing everything they can to adapt to the situation. But everything is different for them.

"Be kind, be compassionate. Have patience.

"They are still trying to recover from the battle number one and their next battle of rebuilding has just begun."
