WESTER Ross pupils revelled in the return of an annual cross country event at Flowerdale.

Bualnaluib, Gairloch, Kinlochewe, Poolewe and Shieldaig primary schools gathered at Flowerdale in Gairloch for the event.

Poolewe Primary and Bualnaluib Primary school head teacher, Natalie White said: “It has been so good to see the children from across the ASG all having fun together in such a beautiful setting.”

At the first annual event of its kind since 2019, "energy was abundant, spirits were high, and smiles were everywhere!"

The overall school winners were Bualnaluib Primary, who took the shield home until next year’s event.

Organisers said later: "Thank you to all the teachers, pupils, parents, volunteer marshals, and to the MacKenzies of Gairloch Estate; the event would not have been possible without their support."
