TWO "outstanding" Wester Ross sporting estates have come on the market at the same time in an "exceptional" turn of events.

Both properties, being marketed by Scottish property consultants, CKD Galbraith, are set amongst some of the most dramatic and unspoilt landscape in the country.

Tournaig Estate (offers around £2.5million) and Heights of Kinlochewe (£2.6million) are said to offer some of the finest country sports in the Highlands.

Heights of Kinlochewe is one of the country’s finest Highland stalking estates with a deer forest declared "second to none". The estate is located above the north-eastern end of Loch Maree, which offers salmon and sea trout fishing. It also includes a variety of hill lochs, including Loch Fada, offering additional trout fishing.

A successful woodland grant scheme is in place at Heights of Kinlochewe and the possibility of a considerable hydro scheme, off the River Abhain Gleann na Muice, which runs out of the estate’s Loch Fada, "offers an exciting prospect".

The complementary estate of Tournaig offers deerstalking and trout fishing on a number of hill lochs with the largest trout caught in Loch Ghiuragarstida which forms the southern boundary of the estate. There is also an in-hand farming enterprise and established woodland schemes. The estate fronts on to Loch Ewe.

The estate centres around Tournaig House which is set in woodland gardens designed by Osgood Mackenzie, the third son of Sir Francis Mackenzie, the laird of Gairloch, famous for creating the Inverewe Gardens in the late 1800s.

John Bound, partner with CKD Galbraith, who specialises in the sale and purchase of estates, said, "It is exceptional that two truly fantastic estates have come to the market in such close proximity.

"We have experienced healthy demand for Highland estates this year from both domestic and foreign parties. Given the wealth of sport on offer each estate is highly desirable and sure to attract a lot of interest from those eager to become the laird of an outstanding Highland landholding."
