A Wester Ross community boat was blown off its launching trailer this morning.

Storm Babet lifted Applecross Community Skiff along the pier, giving locals 'a bit of a rude awakening' this morning.

Applecross resident Anne Macrae said: "Bit of a rude awakening to find that Storm Babet and gusts of wind overnight had lifted our community skiff right off the launching trailer.

"Happily six of us ( Agnes, Mike, Mairi, Iain, Isabelle and Anne ) were able to lift the skiff up from the rocks and tuck it against the shed further up the pier.

"We are lucky that it didn't head off over the sea to Skye and no major damage seems to have been done other than scraped paintwork on the side. Thanks again to those who helped out this morning.

"We were really grateful to those able to help and will be glad of the shelter provided by the boatshed to provide a bit of TLC over the winter months."
