A WESTER Ross caravan and camping site has flagged its intention to open over the winter.

And Sands Caravan and Camping in Gairloch has already had a positive feedback from customers since sharing its plans for the trial earlier today.

It said: "We are trialling staying open over the winter. Our bookings are now open until 10th January. A perfect time to come and experience the beauty of winter in the West.

"Hoping for crisp winter days, beautiful sunrises and clear skies at night to see the stars in all their glory and if we’re lucky aurora might make an appearance.

"We are super excited to see you over the winter."

Many customers have given the proposal the thumbs-up.

Steve Glasper: "Excellent news! I’ve been travelling around the Highlands regularly in winter for over 40 years – always seems ridiculous most of the place seems to close down for nearly 4-5 months of the year. The world has changed there are more and more people around during the winter – glad to see you are leading the change - well done."
