Wester Ross B&B proposal tabled with Highland Council planners

A PROPOSED new outbuilding in Wester Ross could be used as a B&B if planning permission is granted.

Ivor Salvage, from Ardaneaskan, Lochcarron, is hoping to build the new structure in his rear garden.

The planning application is currently under consideration at Highland Council’s planning department after proposals were lodged.

According to the application form, the site covers an area of 181 square metres and its existing use was described by the applicant as “garden space”.

The applicant is also proposing to add one additional parking space at the address, bringing the total there to two.

According to supporting information, which was submitted as part of the application, the work would involve removing existing soil and vegetation where the proposed outbuilding will stand.

The external walls would be constructed with timber with an untreated natural finish and cladding attached.

External work would include footpaths would be formed to Mr Salvage’s requirements which would allow access to the outbuilding.

According to the statement the structure would be formed in accordance with small building structural guidance.
