THE family of an Easter Ross man posted missing seven weeks ago today admitted to feeling "completely lost" in the ongoing search for him.

And they have asked people who live near water – or know others who do – to keep an eye out for Shaun Banner (34) who was last seen near Invergordon Railway Station on Saturday, April 23.

An item of footwear believed to have been that worn by Shaun when he was posted missing was subsequently found ashore at Nigg Beach.

An army of well-wishers have since then been posting details of walks and searches they have taken in Ross-shire and across the Highlands.

His family has been told it is most likely Shaun will be found near water.

In a post shared today, they said: "Seven weeks without Shaun, seven weeks we have been conducting our searches now and currently we are feeling very static in our search for Shaun. We are completely lost.

"Please continue to go on walks when you can, make the beaches and shores your walk of choice. If Shaun is in the water the possibilities of where he could be are endless so if you know people who live near the water please be asking them to check the shorelines and beaches near them.

"This feels like our best chance of getting him just now and we have to stay vigilant. We just need to get him home."

A dedicated Search for Shaun page has been set up to help coordinate searches.

Shaun is described as 5ft 7in with short brown hair, blue eyes and is of slim build.

He was last seen wearing green and brown Crofter work trousers, a grey Rogue Attitude puffer-style jacket, blue RSE work top and grey, purple and blue Nike Air Max trainers.
