WATCH: Geraldine Connah casts into the River Ness at the Mill Stream Pool to mark the start of the 2022 salmon season

The 2022 salmon season got off to a flying start when a member of Inverness Angling Club made the first cast this week.

Geraldine Connah, who moved to the Highland capital 14 years ago, was given the opportunity at the Mill Stream Pool on the River Ness yesterday.

She said it was an honour to be asked and it was “absolutely fine” when she cast her line into the river.
