WATCH: Nursery kids' mudslide fun at Dingwall Primary goes viral with film clip hailed a triumph for play-based learning

A VIDEO posted by a Ross-shire primary school's nursery of kids having fun in the mud has gone viral.

The run of poor weather has gone nothing to dampen spirits at Dingwall Primary School's nursery – quite the contrary.

When the Dingwall Primary's Play-Based Learning Journey accounted posted a clip from its Twitter account earlier in the week, the response was immediate and emphatically positive.

The opportunity for play-based learning experiences went down a storm with the kids – and members of the public enjoying the clip which has put smiles on the faces of thousands of people.

It later posted: "Well, the mud video escalated quickly. 65,000 views and nearly 3000 likes! Most common theme through all the comments...'Let the children play!' I'm going to add the video to our vision aims and values. Sums up our ethos perfectly!"

It had earlier posted the clip of kids sliding around in the mud with the comment: "Just how much FUN was this in our ELC yesterday, I bet you can't help but smile!!!!!!!"

It has proved a tonic for many.

One posted: "My six-year-old son just said where is that, can I go? He wanted me to book it online."

Another added: "That’s proper learning, opportunities to learn in an environment of education outside and those kids are living, loving it."

A poster of a different age group altogether wrote: "I am fast heading towards being 70. Can I come to your ELC and play along with the children?"

And another wag added: "Can we get a video of the maws picking the weans up?"
