The recently formed Melvich Community SCIO has held its first annual general meeting.

The group previously operated as Melvich Village Hall Association but has officially transitioned into a Scottish charitable incorporated organisation.

The last AGM for the village hall association was held prior to the new group's AGM.

A social media post states: "We are now in the final straight of charity transition and have formal consent from OSCR to wind up Melvich Village Hall Association on December 31. All our business is now being conducted as Melvich Community SCIO.

Trustees elected at the meeting on Tuesday evening were: David Hodge, Bob Kerr, Debbie Smith, Trudy Perry and Suzanne Mackay.

The group is pushing forward with an ambitious project to build a multi-purpose hub on the site of the old village hall, now demolished. A video about the hall demolition project was shown at the AGM.
