A Dingwall 34-year-old was buzzing last night after winning a popular singing contest in Inverness.
Joanne Ross took the stage by storm last night for the latest edition of Ness Factor, which saw £86,000 raised for Highland Hospice.
Speaking to the Inverness Courier last night she said that the win had not sunk in yet.
"I am buzzing buzzing," she said.
"Taking part to the contest really improved my confidence. I started off with hardly any confidence, if you asked me to sing a song at the start of the year I would have run out the door. But now, I have just performed in front of 350 people!
"I've always loved singing, but last year I had a scare and found a lump in my throat. I had to get it removed and i was just terrified that I wouldn't be able to sing again. In the end it turned out to be a benign polip. So I just thought - what do I have to lose?"
Judge Andy Monk – the official Simon Cowell lookalike – said of her performance: "Last week we had Storm Babet, tonight we had Storm Joanne!"
