The team at Loch Insh have been making the most of the freezing conditions along with yesterday's strong at their watersports centre.
They powered over the frozen loch under the power of sail with one of the first wind wings to be used in the area and there was also a very rare outing for the centre's ice yacht.
Director and instructor Jonny Freshwater said: "We have an ice yacht which has been around for years. It was donated by (former GB downhill skier) Finlay Mickel's father – or at least he decided to store it here.
"It has been in storage for 20 years. He used to race it in Europe.
"We had it out only for a day in the winter of 2010 – when conditions were equally freezing – and my brothers both Duncan and Andy had it only maybe around 2000.
"The other thing that turned up this week was a wind wing which are used in the summer over water with foiling surfboards and it is all the new craze.
"It was my first time hands on with it and it is going to be all over watersports the next few years. It was great fun."
The wing is simple, small and portable, and can be used on a variety of boards, big and small, foil or not.
Both the wind wing and the yacht gained plenty of attention from those out skating at the frozen loch and enjoying other exercise.
A thaw has now set-up at the loch putting an end to the sailing fun for now at least.
