WATCH: Black Isle care home Eilean Dubh in Fortrose sees Amarillo TikTok go viral

A TikTok video of residents and staff at a Black Isle care home has gone viral with over one million views worldwide.

The fun-loving team at Eilean Dubh in Fortrose clocked up 1.1 million views and over 127,000 likes after they performed a dance routine to Tony Christie’s hit song ‘Is This The Way To Amarillo.’

TikTok users responded in their thousands to praise the team at Eilean Dubh, with comments such as: "Brilliant, this needs to be celebrated nationally spreading the joy of care homes."

One viewer said: "This is what a good care home looks like." Another added: "Wish all care homes were as lovely as this. The residents look very well cared for and very happy."

Another video posted this week of the team exercising to Olivia Newton John’s ‘Let’s Get Physical’ has been seen by over 740,000 people worldwide and liked more than 101,000 times.

Eilean Dubh regularly uses TikTok to capture the fun side of life in the care home.

Acting manager Jackie Macrae said: “We’re always amazed at how many people watch our videos but the response to these latest videos has been incredible.

"We regularly use social media to show our residents having fun and TikTok makes it possible to reach a much larger worldwide audience. The residents at Eilean Dubh love to sing and dance and we’re delighted that so many people get a lot of joy out of watching them.”
