After nine months of construction work, the major new £10m boardwalk and seawall for Ullapool harbour will give the Wester Ross village the 'facelift it needs'.

The project which was taken forward by Ullapool Harbour Trust, is a high–impact social enterprise.

Ullapool harbour master Kevin Peach said: "I'm hoping it will become the focal point of the village for locals and tourists – a safe space, that’s fully accessible, and the businesses will thrive off that. The road was in a catastrophic condition, the local water network was in very, very poor condition, we've renewed all that. I think it will give Ullapool the facelift it needs."

As well as this, the completion of the project will see a 400m extension of the pontoon by the harbour, for yachts, local small boats, marine tourism operators and inshore fishing vessels.
