Ward 2A at Raigmore Hospital remains closed.

A ward at Raigmore Hospital in Inverness remains closed to new admissions due to several patients with symptoms of diarrhoea and/or vomiting.

Ward 2A was first closed on November 15.

A spokeswoman for NHS Highland said this morning the ward remained closed as there were still patients with symptoms.

Patients need to be symptom-free for 48 hours before hospital staff can start deep cleaning the ward.

Staff have contacted next-of-kin to discuss visiting arrangements.

Members of the public are asked that if they have, or live with someone who has, symptoms of diarrhoea and/or vomiting to refrain from visiting any hospital or care home setting until clear of symptoms for 48 hours.
