A ROSS-SHIRE hotel is amongst a string of board and lodgings providers left out of pocket by a lone traveller who leaves without paying her bills, it is believed.
Northern Constabulary says it’s keen to trace a woman who is believed to be enjoying Highland hospitality - and then leaving without paying for it.
A hotel in Wester Ross is said to have been the most recent victim of the wanderer, who police believe may be using a false name and address.
The woman is alleged to have committed fraud at hotels and B&Bs.
In a statement, Northern Constabulary said: “This female is believed to be using false names and addresses and leaving substantial unpaid bills.
“Most recently, between end of April and beginning of May at an hotel in Ullapool, Wester Ross, a woman has pre-booked a reservation under an email address and provided on arrival what is suspected to be a false name and address in Manchester.
“Having checked in to stay for a number of nights, she has left the premises nearing the end of stay without paying the bill that included food and drink. This woman has not been associated to a vehicle or other mode of transport.”
The mystery traveller is described as being white, 5' 9" in height, of medium build and in her 30s. She has “long brown hair fuzzy style, tied back”, police say.
Police are keen to hear from anyone who may have information regarding the identity and whereabouts of the woman to make contact with local police or contact Northern Constabulary on 01463 715555, or alternatively Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
