PUBLIC toilets in Ross-shire's county town have re-opened after two successive incidents of vandalism – with a no-nonsense warning over what might happen if the problem persists.

The public conveniences at Athole Court in Dingwall cost around £500 to repair.

Highland Council said today: "Vandalism is not only criminal, it is a total waste of taxpayers’ money and diverts resources from council works and services.

"If this site suffers from significant vandalism again, it will be closed and remain so until the council can be confident the vandalism issues have dissipated."
