A BLACK Isle business hit by vandalism earlier this month has re-opened.

The Egg Box near Cromarty provides a round-the-clock vending machine and played a key role during the coronavirus lockdown when food supplies were short in supermarkets.

It was hit by an intruder who was apparently trying to look for cash and caused thousands of pounds of damage in the process.

The Gordon family who run the business have since sourced a second-hand replacement for the damaged vending machine equipment and are up and running after it was arrived on Friday.

They say they have been overwhelmed by messages of support since the incident, which coincided with a break-in at the Cromarty Brewing Company premises.
