Challenging conditions on the A835 to Ullapool took their toll earlier today.

A van left the road this morning on the Dhirrie road on the A835 between Ullapool and Garve in challenging weather conditions.

Heavy snow overnight has left many Highland roads in a treacherous condition.

The delivery driver was said to be driving slowly on the icy roads, but ended up swerving away from a deer, according to an eyewitness.

Eyewitness also said the delivery driver was completely fine and unharmed, though quite shaken by the accident.

It was also confirmed by an eyewitness that the driver of the van was not Ullapool's usual Menzies delivery driver, George Russell.

Police have been asked for an update on the situation.
