A VAN driver had to be taken to Raigmore Hospital following a collision on the A835 Inverness to Ullapool road.

The crash was reported around 7.12am on Tuesday and the road, just south of Garve, was blocked as a result of the incident.

It also involved a lorry and the Ford Transit driver suffered what were described as "serious but not life-threatening injuries".

While the road was closed recovery of the vehicles was arranged and it is understood a passenger of the van and the lorry driver were also injured but not as seriously as the Transit driver.

A Police Scotland spokesman confirmed the road was fully reopened by 9.30am and it is understood the injured driver was taken to hospital by ambulance.
